Yeah my friend has a 2004 mustang gt. It has a vortex supercharger on it but without the aftercooler. It has bbk headers and a cold air intake. Thats all it has done to it. My friend bought the car already like this and is wondering how much hp/tq he has aprox. so I figured I would ask for him. He ran a low of 14 second something at the track which is due to him not being a very good driver. He has a boost gauge and he says that the most he thinks he has seen the boost go up to is 12. What is you guys's guesses on how much hp/tq he has aprox.? Thanks!

wow thanks for the quick reply. Thats around what I figured. What do you think with drag radials and a good driver that car is capable of if he does have 355 rwhp? Its a stick by the way.

well 2 things... he's probably much closer to 400... if it has a blower on it, it probably has an intake tb and plenum... its tuned, there are more then a few supporting mods... but if he's seen that boost gauge go up to 12 - he better get it in to be really looked at because if hes running 12psi on a stock gt motor, he's not going to have it much longer.... but 12psi with good supporting mods you're looking closer to 400 if not over that mark... but again 12psi on a gt bottom end w/o aftercooler = trouble

He has no aftercooler and no other mods. He's a ways from 400 rwhp. His car is good for 12s. Depending on how well he can drive and if he can get traction will depend on how low or how high he is in the 12s.

matt, just because he doesnt know about it doesnt mean its not there... if he's running 12psi he's got a dumb tuner, or a somewhat built lower end. but he has BBK headers, which means he has a midpipe (if they're longtubes)... if he has a s/c he's got a tb/plenum... with the intake, and it's been tuned... He just doesn't know it. I cant see a tuner putting that on without those...

Yeah I doubt he is actually running 12 pounds. He has a tendancy to make things up or over exagerate things. Its funny though because he used to have a ford focus zx3 with a cold air intake, shorty header, and catback. He thaught that thing was the fastest thing ever so you can imagine how fast he thinks his stang is.

with that - i doubt hes running 400rwhp, but he's closer to 400 then 350...

A buddy on here, not sure if he's still around. Goes by Nanaki. The man has full bolt-ons and had no aftercooler. I think he was pushing exactly 365rwhp. I didnt just make the figure up or anything. An aftercooler does alot for hp.

But you could be right. Only one way to tell and that's a dyno. I dont see him hitting more than 380rwhp, but maybe I'll get surprised.

yeah, I know Nanaki - but hes not running 12psi ... he has a brain and runs a safe psi on his engine... more psi = more power... only reason I said it was that high... if he's running 7-8psi you're probably right, but who knows?! lol
