power loss = fuel injectors get some BG 44K fule system cleaner, Dont, Dont go and get the cheap fuel cleaners there all crap, BG is the only thing that i have used that has worked, my car did the same chug/sputter and put a cna of BG in and she runs great
Is this the same as using seafoam? I have been considering doing this since I got the car but never had the opportunity (+ I still don't know where the PCV valve is).
IMO seafoam is a gimmick/joke its something that you would see at 2in the morning being sold by the Oxey Clean guy, that make ppl think that the car is smoaking that must be doing something to help, but in fact its just playing on simple minds that dont know any better, my buddy has a 95 LT1 Z28 that he did seafoam 2-3 times a year thinking that it did something like clean the valves lifters and outher parts in the motor untill he did a head and cam swap and found all the normal sings of carbon build up and worn out valve stem seals, the only thing the sea foam did was clean out the injecters out and burn a hole in his pocket, this is just my opinion (dont buy it)

Cleaners are good but the fact that he feels that the problem started right after the oil change is something to look into. Then again it could be something totally not related.

Ok check this out. Too thick an oil will cause the pump to delay getting the oil to the various ports. This is not good

On the other hand thin oil leaks out of the main bearings and main oil gallery. This mens tha the oump has to basically re prime.

Does the oil light seem to say on after you start ?

Do you ahve an oil pressure gage ? How does that read

I would change that oil again with known good oil "pronto" rather than risk the motor.

OK. Just to clarify the knocking sound has been going on since the morning after they changed the oil on 9/7/06. The chug/sluggish problem has only been apparent over the last few days. I don't know if they are related or not.

Oil light?

The only oil pressure guage I have is the one that is on the stock instrument cluster. Haven't noticed anything unusual about how long it takes to get midrange.
