Cam install......
i want to do stage 1 cams on my car over the winter....shop wants 1,000 to do it so thats out...is it something that can be done in the garage? what kind of tools would i need and whats the aprox Et of this project?
I think it really depends on how good you are at working on cars. On a overhead cam engine the cam changes are a little harder than a regular pushrod engine. If your a good wrench it's not hard but you must pay attention to detail. I am sure if search around the net you will be able to find an install guide.

Well the cam swap will be alot more involved than what you have done, but like I said if you pay attention to details and have all the parts on hand and a step by step guide, it won't be too bad. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate it about a 7.
probably gonna do it this winter too, along with p&p by my gf's dad......
