Default Cam install......

i want to do stage 1 cams on my car over the winter....shop wants 1,000 to do it so thats out...is it something that can be done in the garage? what kind of tools would i need and whats the aprox Et of this project?

I think it really depends on how good you are at working on cars. On a overhead cam engine the cam changes are a little harder than a regular pushrod engine. If your a good wrench it's not hard but you must pay attention to detail. I am sure if search around the net you will be able to find an install guide.

thanks man, i mean i did the catback , TB/Plenum install, i kno im no pro, but im not clueless eiether, i mean i have the whole winter, i dont drive the car from november to april

Well the cam swap will be alot more involved than what you have done, but like I said if you pay attention to details and have all the parts on hand and a step by step guide, it won't be too bad. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate it about a 7.
