Odd question, but it has to be asked :P

I drive my mustang all season long - snow, sleet, you name it...

Do I have to keep on using 17in rims, or can I go down lower to 16in, or even 15in rims?

 

You can go lower if you want for the winter. Shouldn`t have any problems except for your speedo being off.

 

He can go with the smaller wheels and get higher profile tires. Get the right tire size and your speedo will be accurate. You have to get the same circumference to accomplish it.

 

if i were u, i would just go get some wheels off of a V6 mustang, cuz u will want narrower tires for the snow

 

khumo esctas asx's are awesome in snow! They get great all around traction but ive never had any problem with them. I had those tires last year and i got anywhere i needed to go even in snow. You shouldnt go any wider than 245's though in the snow.

 

I've had continental extreme contacts for 30,000 miles now...They work great in snow and rain, but only ok for dry weather. But that should be expected from an all season tire. I'm getting new ones for this winter, and getting another set of summer tires&rims when the time comes.
