RE: possible trade in. need opinions
If you are looking for performance @ the strip then the LS1 is a much wiser choice for the money.
IMO, if your goal was like mine...to get into the 12's without having to spend $4,000+ on mods/install/dyno time then I'd jump ship and get the LS1.

A good friend of mine has a Red 02 WS6. I just don't like that car. It is overdone in the front with the hood, and I would much rather have a formula or trans am. I also think that the rear end on the ws6 looks ricey. I mean the spoiler is literally 9" off the trunk, and that may be an under statement. I will take a Camaro>Firebird any day. PLUS, the Camaro is lighter than the Trans Am, and makes the same horse.

Got any pics of this Z28? I don't like their interior, the interior is even more boring than our Stangs. But, I like their power and I like the way a well taken cared of Z looks on the outside. IMO Mustangs look better, but theres at least one Z around my town that I would trade for in a heartbeat.

well i did it. I managed to get the car detailed, full tank of gas, replace my prochamber and put stock h pipe on the stang and give me my prochamber back and a dead even trade. It was a 14995 trade.

$14,900 may sound steep for an LS1 camaro, but it's really not. Those LS1's hold their value pretty well for some reason. Ever try searching for a 98-02 Camaro SS or T/A WS6 with low miles?? They still run $20,000+!!

Can't argue. My brother picked up his SS 3 weeks before I got the stang. I wanted the SS after driving his, he got a ridiculously good deal (from a dealer no less!) paying the same as I did, only he's got his horses (100+ over me) on the inside while mine is on the front grill.
My search for either a WS6 or SS was putting me on a travel of over 500 miles and upping the budget to 19-22+
I think they are holding value because there aren't many running around. Don't know if people wrecked 'em or what, but lots of v6's and z28's, not many SS's.
Thing is, once the point nose was traded out for what I call the "smiley" front end, the look of the mustang (99-04) kept grabbing my eye. Thats why it would be hard for me, I like the look of my stang, but the power of the SS.
Performance stangs.....
My current research/search on a Mach1 is proving your point. Talked to 3 dealerships recently with them, all want 21K+, one even has ridiculous mileage. Do a search on Autotrader, asking price 18.5 or so, some with under 20K mileage. While arguing with the dealership (their Mach1 needed a new rear bumper cover), the salesman told me that there must be something wrong with my GT because its a 22K car (coincidentally they were selling same thing, different color with 7K more miles than mine for just that much) and I could not have paid what I did without getting lucky or robbed. I'll admit it was a good deal, but 16.5 wasn't that uncommon, and my car has been checked, no "hidden" evil awaiting me.
I am getting soured with dealerships on sportscars, they tried to rip me off on a GT, and if I get a Mach1, they want to do the same there.
Ah well....
Enjoy the new ride Matt!

nice to see people that don't get completely pissed and angry when you sell your car to the competition. I will try to get you some pics but not to seem too much of an ***, I know it's a mustang forum. I just couldn't pass up the power of the 5.7. Thanks for the support.
