Mustang "Cuts" Out When On the Throttle.

RE: Mustang "Cuts" Out When On the Throttle.
Where is the MAF and IAC located? I probably need to clean mine... Does that B44k stuff stop valve chatter? Under heavy acceleration and when goin up hills, something from the engine rattles, but only with regular gas...I'm sick of buying premium, so i wanna fix the problem. Any suggestions on that?

That motor had better get some better grade gas or there will be major engine damage. Any product made to clean combustion chambers will work to clean the carbon build up that the pistons may have. Mark

The sound you hear is detonation. It usually comes on under heavy load such as going up hill.
Things that make it worse are:
Engine running hot - too hot a thermostat or partially clogged cooling system or radiator.
Cheap gas with lower than specified octane ( sometimes gas is just not what it says on thepump)
Carbon build up in combustion chamber - raises the compression ratio.
Too hot a plug - A hot electrode causes fuel to detonate.
Engine running lean.
EGR valve clogged or not working.
So make sure all the maintenance items are taken care of such as fuel filter plugs etc.
Use a product to remove carbon as mentioned above.
The Mass Airfolw sensor is right behind the air filter - A tube shaped gadget with a connector going to it. The Air Temp Sensor is in the general vicinity of the above pluged into the flex tube goin to the motor.
Also clean the idle motor - bolted to the Throtle body
If all else fails have someone qualified check the engine controls

The MAF sensor wire is delicate. I cleaned mine with a small paint brush and alcohol, VERY softly and carefully. [8D] Matter of fact if it does not look dirty and gunky leave it alone.
The Idle motor I clean with carb cleaner. It has to be removed first.
I think there are cleaners sold that can be sprayed directly into the Throtle body, These are suposedly safe for Throtle bodies tha are coated.
Is the Check engine light on ?

did someone say change the wires???? lol, theres a COP system. I had the same problem, it was a bad coil pack. wait a little while. The ECU will throw a misfire code and tell you which cylinder, then replace that coil. They have a habit of going on these motors.
