Should I get a Tuner yet?
I got an 03 GT auto, only mods are a SLP LM1 catback and K&N Filter. I would like to get a tuner mainly to tighten the shifts up and raise the timing a little.. Would buying a tuner for these 2 things be a waste? What other power is available from a tuner besides raising timing that I can do to a mostly stock car?
other than to turn off the 02's and for a gear change.

You can F with the WOT air/fuel a little bit. Richen and lean things out if you need.

A tune at this time would probably be a waste since U will probably do more mods to the car and the tune will not be optimum for those future modes.
A hand held tuner on the other hand will let you tweak things a bit every time you change something.
On the other hand if you go to more radical stuff the tuner will be limited. In this case a pro dyno tune specific to your car will probably be best.

sorry ben i disagree
if u get a tuner u use it its not like u cant use it again later on if u get more mods or w.e
a tuner is good forever (unles it breaks or w.e) if u get a good you can always do more than just tighten the shift points etc..
when u use the tuner it tunes the car to mods u have on the car so say u just have an exhuast systen n down the road u get gears or w.e when u tune it the first time it tunes the car to get the most hp out of ur exhaust and w.e n like i said say u put gears on.. now it will tune the car so that its runs the best with your mods u addded on to the car.
id say get it and w.e u do something else to the car retune it n ur good to go until u do something else
