Tremec 3650 trouble?

RE: Tremec 3650 trouble?
Just got off the phone with Tremec....VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE GUY! who PERSONALLY tested the 3650's and the warrenty claims...
#1 MOST of the claims it was bad came from up north, where the M1 fluide (thicker than Mercon III) was not allowed to warm up before driving (fix: run Mercon III)
#2 Less than 10% of customers have issues and less than 1% live in warm climates (again...mercon III fix)
#3 The transmissions are pretty durable and aftermarket shifters with INCORRECT adj. on shift stops WILL MESS THEM UP because they prevent full gear enguagement.
#4 The syncro linings are carbon fiber and ARE COMPATABLE with: Mercon III/M1 synthetic/GM syncromesh.
#5 The tech said he watched many forum threads online, dealt with many warrenty claims, and personally tested the cars (going so far as to rev to redline and sidestep the clutch in 3rd gear trying to duplicate a "pops out of 3rd" claim....no dice.) and he said that I would most likely not experienc any trouble unless I lived in the north and used a thick fluide.
Synopsis...people bitch too much and its a good tranny if correct fluide for climate and no messed up shifter settings are experienced.
