Why does this vibration not go away??

RE: Why does this vibration not go away??
You can try to balance your own driveshaft by using a hose clamp.
Raise the car and securely place it on jack stands.
Clamp a hose clamp around the rear of the drive shaft.
Run the car up to a speed that caused it to vibrate before.
If the vibration is better and liveable, tighten the hose clamp and your'e finished.
If it's worse, move the clamp 180* degrees and tighten.
Do the test again and repeat as necessary.
If the viberation feels like its coming from the front, use the hose clamp on the front of the driveshaft.
This ain't a real subsitute for having the shaft professionally balanced, but it's cheap.

Not a bad idea.. I may give that a try. I had heard from someone else to use some crazy *** packing tape and a nickel or 2. They both sound like decent ideas, at least enough to get me to a point where I know what's definitely outta whack..

The only thing that worries me about a hose clamp, is that the screw-end may be a little too heavy, however it should give me an indication as to what other issues I may be having..
I may have a couple 3-4" clamps around, so I'll be trying that out today... I'm running out of warm weather...

Thankfully, that won't be coming from me... I have a swamp in my backyard... [8D]

no one mentioned bent or warped axle shaft, if you ran it low on gear oil, and it got hot, they are heat treated, it could have caused an axle to warp, lift up the car and spin the wheels and see if the wheels spin true or does one wobble!

RE: Why does this vibration not go away??
When I had my rebuild done, I had 31-splines and new bearings put in, and haven't had an issue w/ fluid levels or seals since then, so I'm hoping that I didn't bend one of those axles...
However, it's still a small possibility...
