i have a 97 gt 5 speed. the haynes manual says to use regualr mercon as tranny fluid, but i can't find it in any of the stores, they all say its too old. all they have is mercon 3 and 5. the manual says do not use 5. when i did the pi swap my shop teacher at school told me to use 5, but 5 is for 1999 and newer. so i put 5 in, but once i read to not use 5 i drained it all out. would i be able to use mercon 3 or do i just have to get it from the dealership or is there a website i can buy regualr mercon from. basically what have u guys used in your trannys. thanks.
