Default SERIOUS HELP

ok i might be getting annoying on this topic again but i just dont know wat else to do my car is running HOT it gets up to the M and the A and sometimes the L during the day. i just put in a new t-stat 180 because before i wasnt running one, my radiator is fine its clean i just got it flushed so there is no clogs in my radiator my water pump is circulating fine i dont know wat else to do any suggestions?? could it be because of the Ported PI heads?? do i need a bigger radiator because of the ported heads?? I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO! or what else could be the problem any suggestions?

It is possible you have a slightly blocked heater core. If you say everything else is ok, this is a possibility. Bypass it and see if it solves the problem.

Basically put the 2 heater hoses together. You can use a "T" connector from a flush kit and just put the cap on the "T" and it will work fine.

If bypassing it works then i recommend replacing the heater core.

How's the fan & fan shroud? Some guys take the fan shroud out for looks but it needs to be there!

Does the car overheat at highway speeds or just when in town?

Simple fix. When going to PI parts you need more TIMING! I have discussed this with Brent at Brenspeed.com. Mustangs have very low timing to begin with. I had a Predator tune and bought a steeda timing adjuster and added 6* on top of the 10% the Predator allows for 2 rpm ranges and no knock. I am gonna to PM you. mark

In addition to the fan shroud, are all the air dams in place, especially in the nose? The first thing I'd do is install a gauge with numbers to see how warm you are really getting. 'L' on my Explorer is only 210...nothing to really worry about.

Of course, reverse flushing the system will never hurt.
