Default exhaust question

Does a catback offer much performance? Or is it mainly for sound? I have one, but I dont know how much I gained from it. I'm sure not much, unless I had a full exhaust. I know I'd for sure gain more with headers and a midpipe, but what about just a catback?

A cat back alone i would guess maybe 5rwhp? It won't be any seat of pants difference for sure, but it will sound so much meaner!

I wish I knew what brand catback I had. I have stock headers and midpipe. The previous owner didn't remember what brand he put on.... is there anyway I can tell? It doesn't sound REALLY loud, but I actually like it, its not as loud as i'd like, but it definitely sounds BETTER. He said he had an X pipe on it too, but took it off before he sold it, (i know that doesn't do anything for me, but I wish he kept it on there...boo). The most flow comes from headers right? Would a full exhaust cause a LACK of backpressure? I dont know why he couldn't remember the brand..... how can that happen? He said maybe mac... but he wasn't sure.

Whats the difference between Bassani and BX? Is it like Magnaflow and Magnapacks where the magnapacks are louder?
