I'm going to say 5.0L. Cheaper parts, produces much more power for less money, can have more power then a 4.6L NA and it is so much easier to work on.

Screw it get a 5.8L 351 W

4.6 hands down. You can always get some K&N Cold Air kit, get a better exhaust, UDP, 4.10 gears, some dry nitros and a tune..and now u r talking making some serious ponies plus u get the fuel economy of a 4.6 if u got a light foot

IF your going to race at the track all the time, buy a 5.0 and build it up as a project car. IF your looking for sometime a little faster from the beginning go with the 4.6. Sometimes i wish i wouldve bought a 5.0 car but i love the 4.6 in mine. It doesnt have as much torque but it has impressed me nonetheless. I want to step up and get a 94+ cobra though. The 4 valve heads are where its at. It all depends how long you can be without the car while you re putting it together. And last but not least. How much is your budget?

well take a look at this. I have a 4.6 with full bolt ons (everything: Lts, off road x, cat back, 4.10's, pulleys, tuner, short throw, intake, Ported 75 mm tb & plenum, ported MAF, #24 injectors, eibach springs, tubular upper and lower control arms, steeda sway bars, rear seat delete, king cobra clutch, carbon race brakes, front and rear tower bars, and so much more i just remember lol) and my buddy has a 5.0 fox body with all that (minus all the suspensions stuff) plus heads, cam, and forged internals and i run a 5th of tenth faster than he does every single time. Its like clock work. From a roll i always seem to take him and on the highway i seem to leave him behond but from a dig he usually gets me. Hes spent thousands more than i have on his engine and i am still faster. Go figure. I have another buddy who has a fox body with a 427 stroker kit and heads and a cam and trickflow upper and lower intake and all that and he runs like a 1/10th faster than i do. He has 3.73's and down low i can take him from a 30 roll or so. Idk its cheap to build up 5.0's but it takes alot to make power with them.

when its all said and done just remember one thing: there is no replacement for displacement

5.0 ftw and if you ever get tired of that you can just drop a 351w/c in there

The most you can stroke a 5.0 is to 381. They talked about it in the new MM&FF
