I have the stock 8.8 rear end in my 99 gt it has 40,000 miles on it and the stock traction lock went out i bought the rebuild kit from ford racing but i dont want to put that in because it will probably not hold up with the power i will be making...what about a mini spool??? i know it will lock up my rear end and make it hard to do u-turns and all that but how often do you do u-turns??????? i was wondering if it would be a bad idea or if there is another alternative that would work just as well im tired of getting one leggers so any input and advice would be gretaly appreciated.

Why a spool?

Have you looked into auto-lockers like a Detroit? A bit more out of the pocket but let off the gas in a turn and no inner wheel spin.

a spool because i am broke lol i mean i can buy 5 sools for the price of a locker

if i do put in the spool other than the uturns how will it effect driveability??? do you guys think if i just have the stock unit rebuilt it will work fine or will i still continue to get one leggers?? also i like to do some canyon carving in my car will the spool effect that?
