Performance help!
Ok i just baught a 1996 mustang gt and i am looking to get more hosepower out of it (arnt we all). I was looking at exhausts and headers and there are soo many what are some of the better ones performance wise? Are performance headers even worth it? As far as the intake goes i only found a few that cleared the strut tower brace and they were $170+ are there any cheaper ones that are just as good? And where do i go after i get an intake and exhaust?
Please give me some help

RE: Performance help!
I am on mt second 96 GT. What you need to do if you're looking for better performance would be to start saving. On this forum, you will definetly hear that the first things you should do would be to mod you car to make your driving experiance more fun. Here's a list in no order:
-Gears - 3:73 or 4:10; research forums to see which gears suit you better.
-Cat Back exhaust - A lot of options there, I use Flowmaster and you can get an exhaust off of EBay new for $300 shipped.
-Shifter - MGW and Steeda Tri AX are the most popular, I use Tri Ax.
-Intake - There are a million choices. I use K&N FIPK Gen II. It clears the sway bar and is made of plastic, not hot metal.
After those first mods, you can start looking into saving about $1,500-$2,000 to do a PI swap (use the search option to find out more about that). It'll be one of your most important mods. After that, it'll be whatever you want to do, if anything, next; long tube headers, mid pipe (I use BBK), fuel pump, bolt on's... It seems like a lot of work because it is. I'm right before the PI swap on my mod list. Take your time, do it right. Good luck.
