Mach 1 Question

RE: Mach 1 Question
pretty sure its the same as the 5 speeds. the main difference is the autos dont have the forged crank like the 5 speeds and has a lower redline. 305 hp, but substantially under-rated i believe.

If ya bang around the 5 speed long enough, the syncros in the tranny go out. GT's (post mid 01) have the same tranny so same "problem" as well.
If you run a search I'm pretty sure someone did an unofficial poll on time to syncro loss.
As far as an auto is concerned, same as prev posted, but since I drive a 5 spd, I wouldn't want the shifting fun taken away from me

RE: Mach 1 Question
the 5 speed is the way to go, but an auto would not disapoint you. the only downside is the crank, and since its not forged, your redline will drop a bit. but either way those 4 valves will make easy and great power compared to the 2v. go mach either way. i wish i did

RE: Mach 1 Question
How much slower is the auto mach than the stick? If i trade in the car (for a 4v) it might be a good idea to go with a slushbox if its not much slower then the stick. I have bad knee problems in my left knee. Those king cobra clutches really get to you after a while. You could always do a crank swap later on.

RE: Mach 1 Question
Ford Automatics are complete garbage.
You can get a high performance soft pedal clutch...
Anyways, IMO 19k for a 32k mile Mach 1 is really pricey.
When I was looking for cars, I was finding 10-20k mile Mach 1's for less than $22,000.
