Sand paper scratch removal

Sand paper scratch removal
Well I decided to touch up my door because someone slammed their door into mine in a parking lot and I (shouldn't have but did) sanded and sanded a little too much. I was wondering if there were any compounds or anything I could do to fix the clear coat at least slightly / remove the scratching marks
Thanks [X(]

well i don't know of any miracle componds that will but when i had my truck, there were a few scrapes on the side so i wet sanded it with 600 grit sandpaper and then I hit with some clear spray paint, worked like a charm and it looked great

I think 600 grit is a little harsh. I'd get some wet/dry 1500 rub in one direction and than get some 2000 grit and rub the opposite direction I like to keep the paper and the paint wet. and than get some rubbing compound and rub that in. Or it a good excuse to take it to a professional and have the whole car buffed out

how big is the area you sanded? I would go ahead and get some touch up paint and some rubbing compund. This is a great site i bought my touch up paint from (http://www.paintscratch.com/). They sell different packages which include clear coat and rubbing compound. Check 'er out.
