Default 96 GT Question

Ok my 96 GT has 127k miles on it and is starting to burn oil. It doesnt consume alot but it burns yesterday when I reved it some when I got home blue smoke puffed out. It doesnt burn all the time just every now and then about half a quart to a quart per oil change. Ive heard valve seals go bad on the NPI engines is this true? Any ideas? Thank You Patrick.

yeah it's gonna happen..mine does the same thing basically, and i'm at about 120,000k on the ticker......nothin' to really do....there's supposedly some stuff out there to help it, but i'm always skeptical of using that stuff, b/c sometimes on a high mileage engine it can make it worse.

Yeah thanks Demon head that is one clean 96 GT it looks exactly like mine except I dont have those nice polished aluminum rims I just have the plain alloys but seriously I have the same tan pinstripe on the side to on mine. mtw002 327 gears are what they came stock with.

1996 GT's came with 2.73 rear end gears.

92 stang, you could replace the heads on your car... It probably is the valve seals. A PI swap would fix it, or if you weren't interested in spending that much money, I'll bet you could find some used NPI heads with a reasonable amount of miles on them for really cheap. Just ideas.
