Clutch cable too loose...
I installed a steeda quick release quadrant, didnt get the adjustable cable. I was under the assumption that the stock cable adjusted on the clutch fork like the older stangs did. Now everything is back together, and I undoubtedly have some slack on the clutch pedal. It operates fine... a little low, but fully engages and disengages. Any quick fixes to pick up some slack on the pedal? Washers on the fork? I'm gonna order the adjustable cable and firewall adjuster soon, just bugs the hell out of me right now. The pedal just bounces around. Thanks
Find something to shim in between the cable stop and the firewall on the engine compartment side. There's two small bolts and then slide the cable sheath out and fill that gap. That should do the trick until you get the new cable.

Be carful with that steeda clutch cable. I just bought it and I am a little on edge about how it goes on. Everything is as it should be from the pedal to the firewall on down to the transmission. It's when you get to the fork that connects to the clutch that I don't like. If you pull up a picture of that cable, you'll see that there is a threaded rod at the end of the cable. That rod goes into the hole of the fork and then two nuts go on the other end of it. The only thing holding that cable onto the fork is those two nuts, both of which screw on the usual way; no reverse threads.
Having said that, I must also admit that it hasn't let me down yet. I screwed both of those nuts on there right where I wanted them and drove through the city for about twenty minutes on thursday, and they stayed put. I put a little thread lock on the smaller one, the one that screws on after the big one against the fork, and then drove around 600 miles this weekend. No problem. I haven't lifted the car to take a look at it yet, but it still feels good. I still don't like the way it is designed, but if it works- it works, you know? Just thought I'd give you a little insight on that cable.

I've never seen any clutch cable fail. Also I would imagine the crimp to the cable to be the weakest links on both units. Still never had any problems with stock or adjustable cables. Just my $.02
