friend converted his v6 into a cobra
mt friend had recently a mustang gt and threw in a 03 cobra s/c engine in it with thr cobra hood..the mechanic working on it crashed it and now he says he bought a v6 and will throw in the engine there ...can it be possible
Yes, but it still won't be a Cobra. Just a base mustang with a Cobra engine.
I'm sure he'll run into problems though supporting the power, I don't think it will be as easy as just a "simple swap".

much safer and easier to just glue the snake emblem on and call it a day

Well, first off, the rear axle is a 7.5 IIRC... That won't hold 300hp well, much less 400+..
Secondly, the suspension will be fuct...
Driveshaft is different
Shifter
Wiring harness...
Sell the engine, and buy another GT, and start over again.. It'll be easier that way..

It will be intersting to see if he can pull it off and what happens to the car.
I had a friend with a 1970's mercury capri. It had a V6 and a 5 peed until he grafted a Chevy 350 into it.
He had to beef up the front springs just to hold the weight of the motor. Unfortunately there was no room left over for the brake booster and the shift pattern on the chevy tranny ended up backward because he used the stock inkage or something.
I remember him making a couple of pasess up/down my street with the rear tires lit up on all gears. Don't know what gave up first but he actually scraped the car after 3 days of fun.
He used the stock rear end and the car took about two people to turn the steering wheel unless it was rolling.
