If your friend wants to swap in an engine from a M1 Abrams tank and has the money, patience, and means to do it I say go for it.
Yes there is a lot of money involved in swapping engines. However, there is a lot of misinformation being given out on this site from people with no experience in this area. A K member swap is not necessary. The 4.6 and the 3.8 use the same k member. You do not need to change out the steering column. The springs and struts/shocks do need to be changed. There is quite a bit of wiring that needs to be changed but from what I read it sounds like he's got a donor car anyway. In this case he's pretty much got everything he needs unless it was damaged too bad from the crash.

I personally don't like the 7.5".. I've had some experience w/ it, and it didn't hold for sh-t...
