exhaust question
Hi everyone, i'm new to this site and new to the mustangs in general. I have wanted one for a good many years and finally got a 2000 gt. My question is dealing with the cats. I am moving back home to North Dakota where there is no smog laws and i want to know if i can pull all 4 cats without having to many issues. If there are to many issues at first can i only pull two of the cats and get away with it (computer not detecting it). I won't do alot of the upgrades until i get back but i do want great sound. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

RE: exhaust question
If you pull all 4 cats the CEL light will come on because the rear O2 sensors believe the cats are not working properly (which they arent cause they are gone). There are 2 ways to get around this: you can buy mil eliminators that plug inline with the rear O2 sensors. They send a signal to the computer that makes it think the rear sensors are getting the correct reading. Second is get a tuner and you can turn the rear O2 sensors off completely. You should be ok if you only remove 2 of them.
I would buy a new off-road mid pipe before i would go cutting on the stock piece. Most are less than $200 and they're fairly easy to install yourself.
