Default Installing a shaker

I have been looking at shakers on the internet, but I was wondering how they are installed. Do you need a different hood? How do they fit on stock hoods if they can?

I haven't done it myself, but did contact the vendor about it. They said that you can use your existing hood (they give you a template to cut it out), and there is an applique that sorta makes it look like the shaker hood. IMO it would be better to find a true shaker hood on ebay (look at the mach 1, and you'll see the hood is different). Then again, I was thinking the same thing, but ROI seems better spent on a supercharger.

You use your stock hood. They send a template with the kit so you can cut your hood exactly to specs. The stock shaker hood for the mach1 does not fit the after market shaker because its sits a little bit further back.
