It doesn't sound like the adjustment is right, if it's engaging a 1/3 of the way off the floor... At least from my experience, clutches are supposed to engage at the top 1/4, not the bottom 1/3..

Regardless though, don't most heavy duty single plate clutches chatter a bit anyway??

Yeah probably. I think I have everything adjusted right, and it doesn't do it alot or all the time, but if you screwup (usually when on a hill taking off easy) it will chatter.
