How close to the sensor was the break. I would check to see if you can repair it yourself. It could just be a simple splice job.

If its the rear o2's (on the mid pipe) then they dont do anything other than setting of your check engine light if your cats arent working properly. The only ones that effect your a/f is the front ones. A mil eliminator extensions just keep your light from coming on and you only use them on the rear

If I am understanding your correctly your o2 is broke in such a place that you can't repair it and you don't have any choice but to replace it. Although that rear o2 is only used for CEL (check engine light) and not air / fuel computations, I think that you still have to have an o2 sensore in the bung in order to even use a MIL right? Even my prochamber has o2 bungs for the o2 sensor. The computer takes the switching rate of the rear divided by the switching rate of the front o2's and it should be within a certain ratio (the rears should switch slower because they have been cat'd). If they do not switch slower then your CEL comes on. If youCEL comes on you can make MIl (RC circuit) to disable the CEL from coming on.

I can see where repairing the o2 would be a problem. I've only made 1 MIL (different car) and those wires were alluminum and very hard to solder to other metals.

If I am wrong about this please correct me but I don't see any choice but to replace your broken o2 sensor.
