Default P1SC Two-Core vs. Three-Core

hey all-
In the next couple of months I plan on getting a Procharger set up. I am most likely only going to run 8psi because my car is a daily driver and rather not risk the motor with 10psi. Getting to the point, I am curious the difference in hp one might notice running 8psi on a 2-core intercooler vs. a 3-core intercooler. Thanks!

To be honest I dont know if theres much of a difference. Pretty much the intercooler on the 3core is much better good up to like 1200hp or something. I'm not sure how much effect it's has on my power. The 3-core standard kit is 10lb pulley but you can ask for an 8lb. I assume with the 3core it can handle the 10lb pulley because of getting cooler air. I could be wrong though.

Besides that question, I guess I have another. Is 10# of boost recommended for a stock 2v, or is it much safer to stick with 8#?

from what ive read in mmff and other mags 10 is fine, just no higher, i wouldnt go any higher than 10 becaue your bottom end will go boom and your top end cant handle the airflow

Yea 8psi is very safe, but 10 is the limit. Its all in the tune, you can run 10psi on a stock 2V as long as you have the tune right. Most of the time a bad tune is what blows an engine, not the actual stress from boost. Make sure you get it tuned by someone you trust and know to be a good tuner and you should have nothing to worry about with 8 or 10psi.

I read about 9-9.5 lbs of boost with the 10lb pulley, all seems good.

If you plan on upgrading at any time, now or with a built motor, buy the 3-core kit just so it's scalable. I am running the exact setup and went with the 3-core just in case I ever want more boost. I bought all supporting accessories in case I ever get the block/internals to go to 600 rwhp.
