Default New Shifter install

So I just installed a new shifter in my 99 mustang GT. I got the Steeda short throw shifter and I like it a lot. I have noticed though that now when it is in gear that there is a noise. Kinda of like i whining noise and sometimes kind of like vibrating. I made sure that everyhitng weas installed correctly and I have heard that a new shifter can produce noise. However is the noise I am experiencing normal. Should I put the stock shifter back in and just go with the short throw handle? What do you all think?

just went to americanmuscle.com and saw the gaskets for about 10 bucks. Wish I would have took the time to see that on the site when I bought the shifter haha. I am gonig to try that and see if that makes the noise go away.

Nothing will make the noise go away .. you guys remember when you installed your shifter.... there was a factory silencer... your cheapest and best option is to modify that stock part and put it back on your new shifter... you will always hear noise no matter what ...

Thats why .. you get exhaust .. a blower... and crank up some ac dc ....

if I could just get the damn shop to finish with my stang I will get the gaskets put on my new shifter and see what difference that makes. Either way I am glad to hear that this noise is normal. I will post updates once the gaskets aer installed
