Default Driving around with a CEL

When I do my OR H, I was thinking of not even buying the sims and just eventully ( before inspection ) shutting it off with a tuner.. Does anything bad happen if you drive around with a CEL for a while?

Nothing bad happens, but you will not know of any other problems that would normally trigger your check engine light if it is already on. Plus, it's really annoying to be looking at it all the time. Try http://www.mileliminatorsonline.com. They're pretty cheap and a quick install. This will turn off the check engine light only for your exhaust and leave it fully operational for all other codes.
