I'm even more confused know Does anyone have a 96GT auto with some gears to tell me about.

 

4 speed auto, means less milage than a 5 spd with the same gears does it not?

 

hold on i think i read that with 4.10s you will max at at 115. that is the biggest lie, even with 4.10s your car dowsn't have enough power to top it out, go 4.10s and don't look back

 

.... im quite sure that if it tops at 115 he will have enough power to do so, especially if he's hittin 120 right now. shorter gears are easier to top out than longer.

 

Kinda impressed with that fact that this guy seems to respect the road and his car, by knowing he shouldn't be driving so fast without reason. Good call man.

 

ok i have 4.10s and i have seen 140 on the speedo, what i meant it that your car doesn't have the power to pull to 6,000rpm

 

me and my brother saw 150 on the original 98 motor in his, the 01 motor pulls much harder and easier especially with the gears, gets to 4k rpm easy, which is where i stop, my friend's 98 well, he likes to go 140 on the freeway, and doesnt want to get gears because he wants to be able to keep doing that.i dunno, but from my expierience, mustangs definantly dont have any problem getting to 4-5k rpm in 5th gear, so im sure 4th wouldnt be a problem.

but anyways, sry to hijack thread. but like i said, i would get 3.73's or 3.90's for the sake of milage

 

i dont know where you guys drive your cars but i can get 130 outta my 410s

if i wanted i could get 150, but why would i wanna drive downthe freeway at 5k rpm?
