the LT1 ones are pretty fast i have a 94 vette auto. and it runs 13.9 @ 101 running really hot . it would take my dads SRT-4 that would kill STI's, EVO's, M3's, well u get the point

The 1974-1979 Vettes were sloth slow - the emissions junk choked those lousy motors to death. The 1975 base motor had 165hp - no kidding. Heck, I had an LG4 V8 in a early 80s Trans Am and it has 160 hp, less than most rice rags today. When the 86 Vette came out, it was one of the faster things on the road. Nowadays, a new Avalon will spank it in a 0-60 competition. The mid-70s Vettes were the slowest ever made. Link

 

when did zr-1 come out - avoid that one

 

fyi, we only have 260 hp, and we weigh more, and have less torque. a stock mid 80's vette will hit mid-14's, which is fair game for our cars, but it is a 20 year old car.
