Need help removing panel around shifter
I have a 2002 GT with a Steeda shifter. I bought an isolator kit to reduce the noice. I just need to remove the panel around the shifter to get at the shifter itself. It looks like the panel just snaps on and off but I did not want to break anything. I have the Ford shop manual but it doesn't help much. It just says remove shifter panel. Yeah, I know. But how. Anyone do this?

So anger is the key. I was just out in my garage. Hate to be a weenie but this thing won't budge. Is it held in with plastic clips? I yanked and tugged. Does any part of it come out first? Do pry bars help?

Try pulling back on the top part first, then sliding it up and out. I will not break anything like everyone said, just man handle it.
Dan04Cobra, where is the best place for the double sided tape. I get creaks when I shift gears as the plastic housing slides around.

get a flat head... and pry it off slowly... you'll hear each *POP* and then it'll be lose... but remember... the 3 switches have cables so don't yank it too hard!!!!!
