boost doesn't kill your engine, horsepower does

how much extra power can the auto tranny take? a friend of mine who has a firebird was saying that you don't want to s/c an auto car because it won't be able to handle the power. i would think that it would be able to handle the power from the 9-10 psi of boost though.

Autos can take just about as much as a 5 spd can if I'm not mistaken.

that's what i thought. maybe there is a certain point where the 5-speed can take more but i would think that the auto can handle the power from a s/c on a stock block

you can run 12 psi on auto or stick as long as it is dyno tuned. the only thing you have to worry about, is anything other 450rwhp can be dangerous for a stock bottom end, and at 500 you have hit the limit. just be careful. As far as which blower to go with, procharger has the most efficient superchargers, and are making the most hp. I would go with th P-1SC if you are looking to stay with the 10-12 range, but if you want to continue to upgrade, and add boost once you forge the internals go with the D-1SC.
