what is the biggest size tire i can fit on a 17' wheel? i was looking at 275/(35/40)/17.

if i can go bigger please let me know.

and i need to know the exact size as in all three numbers up there.

i got 285/45-40?/17 on my two rears..i had 275/45/17

depends on how wide the wheel is, if you ahve deepdish taht are 10.5inches wide, you could probably smack a 355 on.

on stock, i would say 275/40/17, or 285/40/17

i have stock rims 96 gt, i went to two places insisting they could fit 275/45 on my backs and both said they couldnt do it, but acording to the forums its possible

On my 18" by 9" wide wheel I have 275/35/18s. I was told that on a 9 inch rim the widest tire you could fit was probably a 285.

On a stock GT 17" wheel a 275/40 will fit and will retain proper height to keep the speedo happy.

That size is allready to big for the stock wheel so anything bigger is a affecting handling.

Stock 17 inch GT wheels will hold 275/40 definitely I know a guy with some. Im just waiting to get some 03 Cobra rims because I hate my 8.5inch stocker Bullitts they look soo damn skinny from the back lol

On the stock wheels you can on anything from a 235/45/17 245/45/17 255/45/17 or a 255/40/17 265/40/17 275/40/17. All of those would fit on a 8" wide wheel. On a 9" wheel you could put a 245/45/17 255/45/17 or 255/40/17 265/40/17 275/40/17 285/40/17.
