RE: quick help please!!! ring gap??
I'm not disagreeing with oxfordgt, but the specs for piston rings can vary depending if they are aftermarket pieces. If you know for sure what you have is stock, what you find in a manual will work. Otherwise, go by the specs provided by the ring manufacturer.
BTW, these are the specs I found in a service manual:
Top Comp: .009" to .016"
Bottom Comp: .015" to ".025"
Oil: .006" to .026"
Don't forget the side clearance, too. It should be .0012" to .0032" based on the book I have.

RE: quick help please!!! ring gap??
colorado your right there partner and oxford those are the exact stock specs and i appreciate the help but i had misplaced the ring gap sheet that came with my rings but i found it 2 minutes after i posted this so i went off those specs its pretty cool they give specs for turbo and supercharger setups and nitrous and so on so forth i just went with the supercharger gaps they provided man the file fit rings are a pain especially if you do it right and measure them perfectly to each cylinder
