Default 2004 GT

I have a stock GT 4.6 What are some way's to increase hp and performance that are worth while and won't break the bank. I was also wondering doe's anyone know how many 40th anniversary GT's were made? Specifically black ones? Thanks

Gears/Tune = wont add much hp, but it'll be the biggest difference... 150 for gears 400 for tune, 200 for install...

400 for tune is ludicrous, even if its on dyno, and doing that is pointless on a stock mustang to which you will be adding parts later on and will require another tune.

Cheapest way for better times:

clutch
light weight fly wheel
gears
tires

400 is for the tuner genius... if you can find one cheaper the 379, let me know. Unless you do a stand alone tune like a Sniper tune where you don't buy the tuner itself... which is still atleast 279-300... on a stock gt... clutch and flywheel are useless, the stock ones are just fine. You need a tuner for gears... Unless you spend 100 on the speedo recal which is just a waste of money because if you mod your car you will need to spend the 400 on the tuner anyways. Tires are a good thing as well.... but I would still do Gears/tune first which normally will run around 800 combined. Thanks.

Thanks Kaz
When you say tuner are you talking about a superchips tuner? What would you prefer on gears and tires? I have stock tires on 17" rims now...

Tuners = SCT Xcal2, Diablo Predetor, or Sniper. 245/45-17 are the best fit tires for the stock 17x8 rim.. I'd upgrade to a 17x10.5 in the rear and 17x9 in the front.. put some 315's in the rear and 275's in the front... I think they look badass staggered like that, and obviously the wider the tire, the easier it is to hook, especially if you get a set of nice drag radials... lol - My 315's are in the mail as we speak

I think the tuner/gears will make you most happy to start but, may i also suggest investing in suspension components and tires also to maximize all power you are generating currently. I think these items are always overlooked but are some of the most critical in terms of performance.

Smart man, lol... Nothing like drag radials, Subframe connectors, Lower control arms, drag springs and some shocks/struts!

It is almost amusing to me how people are so quick to add more power to their car and yet the tires are the only part that touches the ground and they are ignored!
Oh well I guess I have been there too.
