ORIGINAL: rvoss5

if it's an o/r x pipe buy the cheapest one u can. they do the exact same thing and all u will be doing is paying for the name. i would go prochamber though if i were u. seems to be really popular and reliable.
+1

If it has cats, I have heard that cheaper pipes will rattle etc, but a o/r X is no more or less than 2 pipes welded together at an angle.

My BBK looks exactly like any other o/r x out there, other than the modular ones that can be fitted with cats later.

I have never seen any evidicence that any brand of o/r X will perform any better or worse than any other brand.

Is Mac's Prochamber good only because of it's price? What kind of overall quality are their products?

Prochamber gives you the advantages of an H-pipe - deeper, more rumbly sound, more direct flow - without the normal shortcomings of an H pipe. The crossover in a normal H pipe (like the stocker on your car right now) will stop working when the exhaust gets flowing fast enough; fluid does not move perpendicular to its flow if it's not forced to. In an X pipe this does not happen because the shape of the X - the flow is forced together, but X's tend to give a raspier sound than H's, and can limit flow at the crossover point because it essentially compresses the entire flow down to a choke point.

The Prochamber eliminates all of this by crossing the H with a chamber that forces the flow together without compressing it. This is why the biggest gains, and best reviews, are gotten with a Prochamber.
