Default Nervous about this MAC catback...

It seems like MAC has a bad rep over here because I talked to Mark who's the owner of Performance Autosport (Mustang Enthusiast Shop)...the place is amazing and very high end looking. Anyways, he told me they're crap. THey used to sell them but dont anymore due to the fact that they are "crap". Im second guessing whether or not I should have them installed or sell the catback and find some Bassani or MRT or something.

What do yall think I should do? Scrap it?

I have a Mac catback, no problems whatsoever. I guess since their products are on the less expensive side people rag on them. I've really never had problems with mine. I don't really know what "Crap" means, maybe he doesn't like the sound or something.

MAC has more quality control issues than anything. They are a crappy fit, leave the factory looking like a group of high school students welded everything.

I've bought 2 MAC o/r H-pipes and both needed quite a bit of welding to repair holes in the welds.

Sounds more like a bad welding job then product quality. Ive not had any welding problems with my mac system. Sounds like user error to me.

Well I just got my Mac O/R H and it looks to be of pretty solid construction. Granted I don't know what a good product should look like but I doubt it could be much different than this.

Haha...um...bad welding would result in a bad product, no? LOL

I've purchased both of these from 2 difference retailers over 6 months apart.

Anyway.

User error = Bad welding from factory

You didn't know this Dan?

I've seen a few Mac products and I wasn't all that impressed by the fit and finish. What I do like is the design that the Mac engineer folks came up with. Patch the holes, bend a tube here and there, for the price, it's not all that bad.
