Default hood help

I think I am picking up an '03 cobra hood for my GT tomorrow. It is already painted silver just like my car and he wants $200 for it. I like the look of the hood and since I don't plan to put any other cobra parts on there I don't consider it to be imitating. Anyway, can someone let me know if the '03 cobra hood vents were funtional on the car or if they were just for looks like the scoop on my current hood. Thanks for the help.

They are functional heat extractors, designed to vent underhood heat.

Do cobra hoods on new edge's fit cleanly? I've heard they left a gap between the bumper, then I also heard they didn't? Just curious...

I've heard this too but I believe it's not noticeable.

I was not aware of any gap that could be left. I was told it was a direct bolt on. If you know this isn't true then please let me know.

Ive seen pictures where the cobra hood leaves a slight gap when put on with a gt bumper. I've not personally done the swap though so i couldnt tell you more than here-say.
