Default Heads/Cam setup

Anyone have a good heads and cams setup that they would like to share? I was looking at the AFR 185 heads along w/stage 1 VT cams...would there be anything else I would need to change in this process besides maybe valve springs? Also, what about porting and polishing stock heads...anyone seen any improvements w/this on a near stock 4.6L GT? Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

yes I've searched already and know that stage 1 cams would do well on the stock motor, I just don't know if the AFR heads would make much of a difference...also there are stud mount and pedestal mount for the heads? I don't know what that is so any help would be greatly appreciated!

AFR heads are for 5.0L pushrod V8s, not OHC 4.6L cars.

Nobody makes true aftermarket heads for a 4.6L car atm.

IMO you are wasting alot of money with a good set of worked 2v heads unless you also plan on forging the engine. You simply cannot take advantage of the heads/cams potential after headwork with the RPM limit of the stock shortblock.

The good news is you can pick up a solid 20-30 WHP with a set of cams, not to mention the way the curve improves.
