Default OBD II reset process help

I drive a 96 GT factory OBDII and am going to reset my computer in the coming days. When I turn the car back over after being reset, its gonna need to relearn the idle, air/fuel curves if I'm not mistaken, but I can't seem to find that process anywhere.
If anyone can just put these steps to resetting the computer into a few short words it would be much appreciated!

Default RE: OBD II reset process help

turn the ignition to "on"
connect scanner to obdII port
read codes
clear codes
you're done

EDIT: are you doing this to clear codes on your computer or just to reset the computer?

I'm not positive, but don't you just disconnect the battery and ground the positve terminal that goes to the distribution box?

I can reset the battery without problems, I need the process involved in letting the computer relearn the idle and fuel/air mix. Its something like idle for 5min, then idle with air for 5 mins etc... I just don't know how to do it correctly.

I've never heard of having to do this before. I don't know much about ecu's though.

Im suprised no one knows what I'm talking about, maybe I'm thinking of a different computer. After resetting the ecu the car turns over and revs good and high for a while until you set the idle. You tap on the gas and the ecu pulls the rpms up to about 2k before going back down. The fuel curves dont seem quite on. It is slowly getting better like the computer is learning but its not FIXED. Again any helps appreciated..
