Default Header Install

So my car is going in the shop within the next few days to get my donut gasket replaced. (Narrowed my exhaust leak down to this). The great thing is that I'm pretty good with the head shop guy at a local Chevy Dealership and he is going to hook me up on prices. They are going to take my exhaust completely off and completely apart, replace the donut gasket and then put it all back on for around $120.

My question is, should I go ahead and get my shorty BBK chrome headers installed while they are at it? Please don't suggest long tubes. They are way out of my budget right now and there would be no way that I could pay for the installation prices on top of the cost of the lt's. I got the shorties for about $150 so I kinda think for that price I may as well get them installed.

Any input is appreciated.

So you dont think the shorties would be any better than having the stock ones on? I would think they would be good for at least 1-2whp?

Some people are just into shorties i guess. Might as well go ahead and have them installed since you have them (and there shouldn't be a price difference). At least it will sound a little better...

well if you already have them, I don't see any harm in putting them on, just the long tubes produce a throatier sound imo

If I had it to do again, I'd go with the L/T's!!

Yea trust me, when I'm done with college (if I keep this car and dont upgrade to a Mach) I will probably do the long tube thing. But since I got the shorties for so cheap I just thought that I may as well get them installed.

Do you guys think they will make any difference in sound with my current set-up?
