Default Removing stock muffs

Was pondering getting rid of the stock mufflers and installing plain pipe,heard a few gt's here in town that had this set up and sounds great.Will my ecm compensate for this or will I get a ck engine light the engine is basically stock.Thanks for any thoughts.....................Gary99gt

theres a chip you can get i think, if i get the uncatted x-pipe im getting one, thats to pass emmissions though, so i dont know if it will work for you or not.

If you just remove the mufflers and install a pipe in their place, you won`t get a CEL. I wouldn`t do it though.

sprostang why wouldnt u do it if i may ask. yea it does sound good a lil raspy but good i have that on my car and damn ppl turn there heads since around here theres not to many gt. around my block i mean. but there would be no problem i heard u loose a lil tq but not sure about that

I wouldn`t do it because I don`t think it sounds all that good. I`ve heard it before and didn`t care for it. An exhaustneeds some kind of tone to it, not just LOUD. And thats what it is with no mufflers. But if thats what you like, thats fine. It`s your car and thats all that matters. But i`m sure if you throw on, say, a magnapack or flowmaster, or whatever, you`ll be like, Damn that sounds soo much better. Especially if you change out your midpipe as well.

well thats tru i member when i did it i was like damn thats **** sounds nice but now its abeen bout 5 or 6 month and im tired of it its just to raspy its nice to have it in first bout 2500 or 3000 rpm sounds so nice but im ready to drop headers n midpip i dont no about catback yet though dont no too much about that

no light from removeing just the mufflers - just unblot them and run your open H - ITS LOUD AS ****
