i used a swivel head 8 inch extrension along with another swivel head 3 inch and another swivel head adaptor, then a deep socket 15. worked perfectly. i get mine off in 2 seconds now now prob. itll seem so easy as soon as you get it off the first time, seriously its not so bad with a bunch of swivel head extensions.

i had a lift it made it a lot easier.....i had to go under the car once to tighten the same bolt. wow it made it 50x's harder. if you dont have a lift then i wouldnt bother. pay the little bit of money and get it installed

I've posted this before but I guess unless your doing this job it doesn't get read. The design of the stud and pipe combination is perfect---A Perfect Pain In The A**---. The pipe is bent just right so a deep socket doesn't quite sit right on the nut and a short socket is, well, too short. So what we do without even thinking about it is use a die grinder with a cut off wheel and cut the stud just below the nut. Now you can use a good 6 pt. short socket and swivel or an impact swivel socket and bingo, off it comes. Also, no need to replace the stud as it is way to long to begin with. I swear, some day I'm gonna meet a guy who tells me he is an Automobile designer/engineer and I'm punch him square in the mush, just for all of the stupid sh*t they come up with. These idiots should have to work on cars before they design anything, good luck.
