Default O2 Sensor Question

OK, My service engine soon light came on today. The mechanic said it was the O2 Sensors. My question is how many O2 sensors due I need and where are they located on a 1999 for Mustang. Also would it the sensors change location if I have a Bassani X pipe? I know that may be a silly question but I just don't know. Thanks

The location won't change but maybe a few inches unless you have long tubes. You have two 02 sensors and they are the rear most plugs on your pipes. You'll have one (on each side) up close to the header on the down pipe, and one on each side of the midpipe (these are the 02 sensors). Is your x-pipe an off road x? If so then you'll need some MIL eliminators (malfunction indicator light eliminators). I went with BBK and got them for just shy of 60 bucks. They work fine. If you have cats then you may need to replace your 02 sensors.

There are a total of 4 sensors. Two heat sensors, and two 02 sensors. The rear most are the 02's. So just get 2

Hey dont go out and buy new 02's they are really expensive.. its probably your rear ones anyways so just go get some mils... they are dumie 02's cost around 50-60.. and take like 10 min to install..
