Default legality issues

I got a set of taillight/blinker sequential flashers for Christmas and installed them. (they look great) BUT when i apply the brakes they also flash from the inside to the outside. I was wondering if this is legal??? (I live in the wonderful state of New Jersey) any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

I recommend them +10000000 to anybody who is thinking about it. You can't beat the look. My girlfriend got them from Custom Design Concepts $225 just plug and play no wiring or anything. AND you get 75 bucks back if you send them your old relay and wiring harnesses. worth EVERY penny. Thanks for the quick responses guys.

if anything, they almost sound like they could
help prevent some yahoo, from rear ending
your stang, at a stop light, due to the
bright, blinking lights.

i might just get them, for this reason alone.
