RE: DAMN THE LS1
All of you die hard Ford guys must not remember back in 1998 when Evan Smith ran 12.8 in a factory stock Z28 LS1. Hell, it was even in MM&FF.

I don't talk out my ***. Here, maybe this will help you understand, unless they're all in some magical f-body land. Far far away. Stock dyno's and times of LS1 f-bodies

And Yep, LS1's make some massive power STOCK
But It's like a "POWER EXPLOSION" so I hear from the guy that owns the dyno with an 03 Z06
Doesn't have much down low for whatever reason.
Just going by what I hear, they really arnt that bad at the track...

RE: DAMN THE LS1
Damn the LS1 is right, chevy made some bitchin 5.7L engines. I've got a 1995 Pontiac Trans AM (LT1 engine) with an A4 stalled with a shift kit. People laugh that I have an A4 until they see me lose traction in 2-3rd gear (street tires) with no other modifications on my 120K mile engine.
I definitely recommend trading in your 98 Mustang for an F-body, I was going to get a Mustang but the only years I liked were the 1999+ and they were more expensive than my LT1. Which only cost me 3,000 dollars (I had to rebuild the tranny, only cost 400 bux!) now I am working on a 383 build. Save some money, almost any LT1 car is going to be in need of repairs might as well get one with known broken parts so they can't try to sell it for more than its worth. Why pay 6K for a "working" car only to have it break weeks or a month later.
Buy a broken one for cheap, and build the **** out of it. Bam instant street monster for less than the price of a 1999+ stang. Thats just a route you can go, obviously having a newer car with a warranty has its advantages too. However working on a car with a warranty generally voids it if you wanna dig into the engine.
2005 Mustangs are lookin' pretty sweet, can't wait to see them floating around my area.
