Im saying if its like stant gas cap and you have the model number you could go to autoparts store match it up and get the keys from it or one made like it follow me ?

go find a locksmith, that's all you gotta do. I'd bet a lot of money that a gas cap keyhole is very very easily picked compared to most keyholes. probably take the guy 2 minutes to pick it.

Have the locksmith make you a newkey til you can get another lock, then put the new newkey with the rest of your keys so you'll never lose it again and you'll always know where it is. Thats what I would do if I ever got a LGC
