cam number question

Default cam number question

I know a little about cams, but what does it mean when its like Comp 262 or whatever. What are the numbers.

instead of asking here why don't you go on comps website and do some research...you might learn a thing or 2. Everything you seek is already out there, you just need to look for it.

262 is the advertised duration, or duration at 0.005" of lift for Comp. Some companies will list duration at 0.001" as the advertised. The defacto duration is at 0.050" and is a spec listed by all companies.
