That sounds like a screwed tranny to me, sorry to say it. It may be something as simple as the torque converter, or it could be the clutches inside of the tranny. Either way, continue to abuse your car...the way I look at it is that you bust your stang, your mechanic makes a few dollars,he buys his own stang and mods it doing so spending money to various performance companies ( steeda, vt, bbk etc.), they continue thier research and devolpment, I get to buy new parts which in turn break my car... see the circle of mustang ownership. But seriously if it is as simple as the T.C. go with a stall and start making some good pases.

car shifts fine when driving normal, is there a way to manually shift the car and get it to shift before the rev limiter. I tried to shift at about 5k but it still goes into the limiter at about 6200-6500

Clutch's slippin. Just did the same thing to my DD (its just old 210k), itlll slowly but surely get worse. Pretty soon itll start slippin at lower and lower rpm's. Then youll lose one of the gears alltogether. Its going to need a rebuild soon. Its either that or your pump is starting to lose pressure. It might be cheaper to find a used trans than to get yours rebuilt.
