You can and i have. I ported my stock ones and i also smoothed out and ported my aftermarket 75 mm ones too before i sold them. IMO its a good idea to smooth out and port a new throttle body and plenum before you put it on. You dont have to be an ASE tech to do it and all you need is a drimmel tool.

Youll notice, even on the high performance ones, there are a lot of imperfections. The biggest part is how the TB lines up with the plenum on the inside when both are mounted together. It seems like this is a big problem with Professional Products plenum and throttle bodies. Just make sure its all smooth and all lines up. Take a little off the inner side of the inside of the plenum elbow. Just be very easy and smooth about it. If you're not you can really roush up the surface so make sure you have the right bit. The less you know about this the less you should do so if you dont know a whole lot just smooth it out a little and dont get too ambitious. . .
